I think that this article is cause and effect because it talking about you being bored and the things you can do so you wont be as bored doing what ever bores you. I think the tone of the article is courteous because it's nice or this person to give us tips about fighting our boredom. This article is basically about fighting your boredom. They give us 7 tips on how to be less bored on the things the bore us. The three supporting details I chose from the article are: "One “little thing” that can be a source of unhappiness is boredom." , "Here are seven tips to re-frame the moment; even if you can’t escape a situation, by re-framing your emotions about it, you can transform it." , and "The Chinese have a theory that you pass through boredom into fascination and I think it’s true". To me this article does kind of help me because now when am bored I will remember these tips from this article and do what it says. To people and the world this article might help them too, I think that if they are bored they might want to read this article and see what they can do.
So are you saying boredom is the cause and the suggestions are the effects? I don't think that quite fits. I don't think the author is trying to be polite about anything, per se; I'd say politeness doesn't even enter into it. Also, please go beyond what the article SAYS its purpose is when coming up with inferences.
