PERSUASIVE writing

Why leave everything to the last minute?
Lets talk not about leaving everything to the last minute, but ways to know when to do your stuff like if you are an active procrastination. Which means you know that you are delaying mowing the lawn of cleaning your closet, or something important like that, but you are doing something that is more valuable instead. Sort everything out on a piece of paper. Write everything you have to do that day. Put it in the order you want to do it and put times on yourself. This way when you know how much time you have to do something you will do it better and faster and will concentrate on what your doing. When you are being a passive procrastination its when you are just sitting around not doing anything at all. Now that's something you really don't want to do or be.  If you want to be someone important in life  you shouldn't be a lazy person. You should be successful and not procrastinate.

Managing your time is a really great and important skill you must do to be someone important in life and a successful person, also a good influence on people. One goal is to help yourself become aware of how you use your time as one resource in organizing and succeeding in your studies in the context of competing activities of friends, work, family, etc. That way you have times to do everything that's needed to be done. Plus you will get stuff done easily and faster, at least that how I see it.

I procrastinate, I used to do it a lot. I stopped now, because it isn't good for you. I would always get behind at school and get bad grades and you don't want that trust me. I've learned my lesson the hard way, and it sucks, really! When I started managing my time and making a list of what to do first and what to do last, it made my life easier. I like how it works, I feel like I concentrate more on my work and get stuff done faster. Its a really great skill, us teenagers should use. It helps a lot and you will love it as much as I do! Not only do we need to use it. Also important people that work in offices or other people. Everyone does it pretty much.

CORRECTED-Google rejects White House request to pull Mohammad film clip

Dear White House,

I think that this video should be remove from YouTube because you don't want your child to be on there watching  this ugly video. You don't want your child to be doing bad stuff that they see nor saying bad things they hear. Nowadays you have little kids already getting on YouTube, not only on YouTube but on the internet too. This video contains sexually content and violet things. Why putting stuff like this on YouTube or the internet? They are not suppose to be posting videos with stuff like this by the way. So of course it needs to be removed from YouTube. I hope you all understand that its bad influence for kids any many many people that are not mature today. This is also affecting many people all over the world, towards there religion. Its killing people and most people take it like a joke. This isn't a joke at all! Its serious in many places. But think about your children, or the people that are getting killed cause of this? Its sad, and you wouldn't want this to happen to you at all, would you? So don't let this happen to these innocent people all over the world. Don't let them die because of this video. Don't let children find there selves with this video. Don't let children grow up to be something they are seeing on TV. If I were you I would think about the future of every kid and think about the people who are loosing their lives right now, and remove the video!

This Weekend

This weekend, I will finally get some peace. My two brothers and my sister Neidy are going to spend the weekend with my dad. I' am going to stay with my little sister Keilyn and mom and step dad. I really don't know what am going to be doing, But am planning on renting some movies and inviting my boyfriend over so we can see them together on Saturday night. Saturday morning am just going o clean the house and everything and in the afternoon go out to eat with my boyfriend, Yonathan, after that maybe go to the park and walk a little then go straight to Family Video and rent some movies to watch we always do this on Saturday's. It's fun being with him, I enjoy my day a lot, when am with him. When there are parties on Saturday nights, I never miss them. Sunday morning I go to church from 10 to 12:40 or 1 depends on when the service is done. I go to Promised Land on exit 19. It's like two churches in one, You have the English church in front, and at the back  it's Hispanic people's church, Tierra Prometida. That's the translation of Promised Land. This is like a baptist church and we are Christians. My pastor's name is Jerry. and he don't like that name so he calls  him self Pastor Gerardo. After church my boyfriend picks me up when his not playing soccer over in Charlotte. We often go to eat after am out of church, and then we just chill at the park or go visit people, like friends or family. We go to my dad's house a lot and be with my family. I got some crazy cousins, but I love them all. I sometimes go to the movies. Like this Sunday am hitting the movies! I don't know what movie to watch but I'll find us a great movie to watch. This is all I basically do almost every weekend.

Demonstrations

In public speaking, we are having to do a presentation tomorrow about how to demonstrate something to the class. We must be experts at this, and do and outline for this to turn in to the teacher. Our outline is simple like this:

  • Introduction
    • Attention Getter- Which grabs attention from your audience
    • Thesis Statement- Which states your topic
    • Significance- Where you explain why the audience should know about this? and Why your an expert at this?
    • Overview-  Which is a brief overview of the steps you will demonstrate
  • Body
    • Step one (main point)
      • Detailed Explanation Of Step
    • Step two (main point)
      • Detailed Explanation Of Step
and so on.....
lastly the:

  • Conclusion
    • Review- Where you do a restatement of the steps.
    • Finality- Where you give your audience a closure and a sense of accomplishment
This above is the outline we are using to study and present speech presentations or stuff like this. Mr Paul says it's not always going to be like this that it will change some time.

I hope I do great tomorrow! Am nervous...  I didn't know what to show the class so am doing "How to Wrap a Present"!  I have four steps in my demonstration.

Mr. Paul is a great teacher, when am in his class he talks about all these things that make me trust myself when am up there giving a speech or what ever we do in front of a class. So far am doing good.. I hope I do better, and I really want to kill my shyness.

We Read

Twin Towers Found at http://goo.gl/upDRS

Today September 11, 2012, we have read "Gravity's Rainbow: The 9/11 Memorial Manages a Delicate Balance Between Grief and Consolation" . Below I am going to create a found poem about this article.

Few months after the attack on the World Trade Center,

New York City, called for a "soaring" memorial to the people who died on 9/11,

Two massive square voids sited within the footprints of the towers,

The collapse of the towers had pounded out a space to deposit feelings about that whole wretched day,

The memorial doesn't carry you into a dark place,

It manages to acknowledge the inevitability of grief at this place,

A few months after the 9/11 attacks,

dark voids express a sense of loss and grief,

reach into your feelings about the grave,

the falling water exerts its ancient power to console.

There the names of the 9/11 dead would be inscribed on walls visible behind the curtains of falling water,

In all there are 2,983,

including everyone (other than the terrorists) who died at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon,

and in the crash of United Airlines Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pa.,

as well as the six who died in the truck bomb attack on the Twin Towers in 1993.

This poem is about how at New York City there was an attack on the World Trade Center. People were crying for the dead of many other people. The towers collapsed leaving lots of people worried, sad, and causing dead. Then it comes in telling you that you should feel like in a dark place when you come near where this happen. It says you should acknowledge the inevitability of the grief in this place.

Chapter3: Arithmetic Summer !

In the beginning of chapter three. Walter starts talking about his sister being married  to a soldier named Frank Law. In April 1994, they had a baby and named him, Frank Stephen Law. He goes in about bringing his report card home, which has all circled red marks. His mom is very upset with his grades and stuff. Then he remembers how his teacher tells him that his arithmetic is as good as everyone's in the class. By getting these bad grades he was threatened with not being allowed to go to bible school, and he loved going to bible school, but then he eventually worked out an arrangement. he would come home from bible school and spend two hours working on math problems with Frank.

I remember last time when I had made bad grades on my report card. Lord my momma didn't like that at all. Never again did I bring back home bad reports. Tried my best to do my work correctly.  I didn't know what the word arithmetic meant. Looked it up and it has to deal with math.

Towards the end of the chapter it talks about how Walter had been having stomach pains. One day mom took him to the hospital and they asked him what was wrong and what he had ate the day before. Then they checked him out and they told Walters mom that his appendix needed to be taken out. So they called for an emergency operation. He spent a week at the hospital. When he got back home he wasn't allowed to play, go outside, or stuff like this. He needed to stay still. But Walter didn't listen. He took his bike outside and road it. He said he couldn't be without doing anything. Walter saw his dad at the end of the road and he hurried up and road his bike really fast to get home quick. and he rushed and he said his stomach started to hurt. When he got home he rushed to his bed took out his clothes and everything. He acted like he was sleeping. Mom came home and asked if he was okay because his forehead was warm. His dad took the covers away from him and he was bleeding. His incision had opened. They rushed him to the hospital and asked what happen, he said he "fell". He had to stay at the hospital again.

I remember one year ago, when I took care of my friends little girl. Because she  had her appendix took out too. I took care of her while she was gone for work. I took care of her for 2 or 3 weeks. I gave her to eat, helped her got to the bathroom, and stuff like this. She always stayed up stairs in her bed. I would bring the food up stairs. Now she is  a lot better. But my friend is again in the hospital because now there is something wrong with her little 6 year old. Not sure whats wrong with him. But I hope everything turns out great.

A Dark Brown Dog

Last week and this week we have been talking about the story we read. A Dark Brown Dog, which is about this dog a kid found in the streets. How the child wanted to play with this dog, but since the dog didn't do what he was told to do. He got beat up the child many times. In the story the dog would pry. Because he wanted the kid to stop doing bad things to him. The child felt like he had control over him and could do anything. He asked his parents if he could keep him. His parents didn't want to at first, but then dad said it was okay. This was because dad just wanted to get mom mad. They don't get along in this story. They are like enemies that like to get each other mad. One day dad came home drunk and beat the dog up. Dad killed the dog by throwing him out the window.

I hate it when people abuse animals. Even if it was a cat, I don't like cats. But that don't mean am going to abuse them. because it's not right to abuse animals. I think that's a horrible thing to do to poor animals, that do nothing to us humans. They live there life as we are living ours. Some cats come to our back yard. Am not going to lie that I think of doing stuff to them. But I would never actually harm no sort of animal. Cats are cute but I just wouldn't like one as a pet. All animals are cute theirs no need to abuse any kind of animal.

Abused dog found  http://goo.gl/v6UEe.
To the left this poor dog got abused. See what happens when dogs get abuse. Its just something humans can't do. Its not the right thing to do. People need to have a heart and forget about abusing dogs, nor children.

Tessellations

Yesterday in geometry class we talked about tessellations. Which are patterns used over and over again, a repetitive pattern. Ms. Terry left us a project for this. She told us to make a pattern so we can cover our paper with that pattern over and over again. This project is do Thursday.

Tessellations are really cool and fun to do.

These are some artists that have many tessellations:

As you see to your left two examples of tessellations. They are really fun and interesting to do. You can be really creative and going beyond just shapes.

You can see tessellations on walls, paintings, drawings, shirts, pants, notebooks, church, shoes, binders, and other different objects. They can be anywhere on everything.

I always learn new stuff in geometry. Geometry is a fun class and as I said I enjoy being in there with Ms. Terry. I hope to learn a lot of new stuff in this amazing class.

I didn't know that me myself was doing tessellations since ever. I've always drawn stuff similar to these drawing. I didn't know they were called this and that they are actually a type of famous art thing. I like this kinds of drawings. They are awesome, I do this kind of stuff when am bored and have nothing to do. They are hard but sometimes easy. =)

Mi QuinceaƱera

On July 7th of 2012 I celebrated my big sweet fifteenth. This was in Gastonia, at the Karyae Park, up near Crowders Mountain.
Me <3 My Picture!
I had seven Chamberlains and four ladies. My honor Chamberlain, (which was the person who did all the waltz and surprise dances with me, my partner) was my close friend named Silvestre Diaz. We had like two to three months to practice every waltz and every surprise dance. I was a lot worried about all these dances because my friends were most of the time just playing around and didn't want to take it serious.

Me and My Boyfriend Yonathan during the waltz. My Picture!

We did three waltz, four including the father daughter one. I did an entrance waltz, a titanic waltz, and this waltz named "Tiempo De Vals". The waltz I loved the most was the titanic waltz it was so beautiful how the steps and everything was.

Belly Dance Outfit.. My Picture..
I also did three surprise dances. I had a mix which was Bachata, Merengue, and Tribal the first two songs were two minutes of the song the other one was the full song. That dance we did it with everyone in my court. The second surprise dance was "Low" by Flo-rida, and this one I just danced with the girls only. The last surprise dance was a belly dance. That one was awesome I thought I was going to be nervous because there were a lot of people, and we was showing our belly and everything.

Thought I was going to mess up but everything came out just right. I loved everything about my party. I thank the lord for letting my parents do this big and awesome party I had. I was so happy that day, but I was so tired the next day.

I love my prettiful dress I had on ! ( My Picture )
