Chapter3: Arithmetic Summer !

In the beginning of chapter three. Walter starts talking about his sister being married  to a soldier named Frank Law. In April 1994, they had a baby and named him, Frank Stephen Law. He goes in about bringing his report card home, which has all circled red marks. His mom is very upset with his grades and stuff. Then he remembers how his teacher tells him that his arithmetic is as good as everyone's in the class. By getting these bad grades he was threatened with not being allowed to go to bible school, and he loved going to bible school, but then he eventually worked out an arrangement. he would come home from bible school and spend two hours working on math problems with Frank.

I remember last time when I had made bad grades on my report card. Lord my momma didn't like that at all. Never again did I bring back home bad reports. Tried my best to do my work correctly.  I didn't know what the word arithmetic meant. Looked it up and it has to deal with math.

Towards the end of the chapter it talks about how Walter had been having stomach pains. One day mom took him to the hospital and they asked him what was wrong and what he had ate the day before. Then they checked him out and they told Walters mom that his appendix needed to be taken out. So they called for an emergency operation. He spent a week at the hospital. When he got back home he wasn't allowed to play, go outside, or stuff like this. He needed to stay still. But Walter didn't listen. He took his bike outside and road it. He said he couldn't be without doing anything. Walter saw his dad at the end of the road and he hurried up and road his bike really fast to get home quick. and he rushed and he said his stomach started to hurt. When he got home he rushed to his bed took out his clothes and everything. He acted like he was sleeping. Mom came home and asked if he was okay because his forehead was warm. His dad took the covers away from him and he was bleeding. His incision had opened. They rushed him to the hospital and asked what happen, he said he "fell". He had to stay at the hospital again.

I remember one year ago, when I took care of my friends little girl. Because she  had her appendix took out too. I took care of her while she was gone for work. I took care of her for 2 or 3 weeks. I gave her to eat, helped her got to the bathroom, and stuff like this. She always stayed up stairs in her bed. I would bring the food up stairs. Now she is  a lot better. But my friend is again in the hospital because now there is something wrong with her little 6 year old. Not sure whats wrong with him. But I hope everything turns out great.
